Computer Use Agents for the Enterprise Finance and Accounting Close

How to move without the risk

A phased migration reduces risk. Start with a single high-pain process where RPA fails often or manual work is heavy. Pick a process that already has a documented SOP, such as vendor invoice reconciliation or journal entry posting. Run a pilot with a computer use agent on the same work the RPA bot handles. Compare the time to complete, error rates, and the amount of developer time needed to maintain the automation. If the agent succeeds, expand to other similar processes. Over several quarters, replace bots that are repeatedly broken or changed with agents that adapt automatically. This approach keeps RPA for high-volume, stable backend tasks that do not require UI interaction. Finance teams can gradually build a digital workforce that is more resilient to change and less dependent on developers. The result is a finance close that runs more reliably and with fewer surprises.
